College Assignments
October 3, 2007
Over the last 2 days, we were given two very short deadlined assignments. The first was given to us at 9am, and we had to have 3 final images by 11.30. The assignment title I chose was ‘Glasgow: Dear Green Place?’ – i.e, is Glasgow a clean or dirty place to live? I shot it digitally, on one of the colleges 20D’s with the 18-55 lens. I like the first shot, and I’m fairly happy with most of them overall, but there’s nothing great here I don’t think.
The next brief we were told to hand in the following day at 1pm -3 portraits of family or friends. Again, nothing special here.
Jonathan.
My Gran.
Jenn.
The following images are from the last two rolls of delta400 that I developed..
Petra, mid discussion.
Hipshot whilst walking. Really pleased with the focus on this one.
Jenn, with the $$ that Kyle sent me, just before we exchanged them for real money
After visiting the camera shop.
Nice light, boring shot.
Eating at Subway (for a change..)
These people were also eating at subway. Not that it matters, but this was a ‘back-shot’. I’m just glad it came out fairly level, I was pouring a Coke at the time.
More nice light!
Grant, another DS-player in our class.
Ignoring me.
Camera geeking with Alan. What a lovely bright viewfinder that Nikon has.
Gary waiting around and being bored in class.
Being even more bored, probably.
Dealing with difficult customers in Jessops.
That’s it for now, be expecting some Superia 800 and some tri-x in the next entry, and maybe even some new print scans – I spent 2.5 hours in the darkroom today for the first time in months, and made lots of 8×10’s. Feel much better now, was starting to panic due to the large backlog. Also, it turns out that the cute little hair mark thats in the top right of every negative isn’t something in m neg scanner, but something in MY ACTUAL CAMERA. Anyone know where this will be in a Leica? Near the shutter? It’s usually pretty sharp, so it’s not on the lens…help! How can I get rid of it?
Cheers for reading!
