New Direction.
September 7, 2009
I think my photography has changed recently. Let me know what you think.
Lucy and Kasia. This was before we left for the US.
Near the end of the night for me.
Jenn, Jonathan and Sophie, In Jenn’s flat. Trying to figure out how to work the TV.
In town, on Union Street.
Shooting 50mm for a change, after some inspiration. A cigarette and a busker shouting at someone.
Waiting at the bus stop.
Waiting for me to cross I think. Some nice light for a change.
Jenn, with a packet of Nicky. After realising we were travelling up to Dundee to go to a Nicky’s flatwarming party.
I like the texture on the ground.
My one black and white of this entry. A first I think. Jonathan wearing my sunglasses i got for $10.
Walking back to Jenn’s.
Meh.
The hallway in Jenn’s block.
The light in Jenn’s flat.
At an awful club in Dundee. Good night though.
In St. Andrews.
In a brewery for Sam’s birthday.
Bit noisy, sorry.
Jonathan.
Jenn, laughing.
Waiting to go see..
…Jeffrey Lewis.
We took a taxi back after some free chicken.
I think this is the nearerst the white balance can get. I think it was from a shop light?

Wickerman Festival, Summer 2009.
September 3, 2009
Travelled down to the Wickerman Festival in July with my good friends The Second Hand Marching Band, where they played a set to screaming fans.
The first morning after travelling down the night before.
Waking up at 9am. I woke up after a terrible sleep, where my tent flooded and I had no real blanket, and could see my breath.
Discovering our surroundings in daylight.
Struggling to put up our biggest tent.
Rich cooking a proper breakfast. I had tesco value fake sausage and tesco value fake cheese on tesco value bread.
Sophie’s flute drifted through the air..
Rich’s hat drifted around..
Listening to Alistair’s self made guitar.
(for the Lying Down Craze Website I think.)
Handing out lyrics to the next song.
Emphatic fans.
Coming off stage.
Ryan and Louise arrived and we were happy.
Collette at the edge of our campsite in the afternoon.
Stoo was wearing a football shirt and looking cool.
Dave swigging, grittily.
Steff and Stoo.
Sophie pretending to be disgruntled.
Couldn’t focus properly in the sun. I’m not used to sun.
(Jamie:leave a comment and yr emailaddress and I’ll email you that photo.)
Trying the 85mm in the nice light.
Inflatable Sofa, sat on by Sophie.
The light was still so good, so late in the day.
Maxi, sat around the circle.
Dave..
lighting a..
..cigarette.
Ryan, of The 17th Century.
The 17th Century.
Liam, standing in front of a truck.
Dave, standing in front of a truck.
Wanted to relax, so kept the 85mm on.
A man I met.
A girl watching one of the last few bands on the second night.
The next day, performing for a website. They were meant to play in a tent, but that proved undoable.
Some chose to drink the next afternoon. Sleeping arrangements had improved slightly by now with a new tent.
Conversing.
Watching a band.
I don’t think this was intended as a visual pun at this time. Which makes me like it more, I think.
It was beginning to get pretty normal by now.
Rowan in the evening sun.
Rich briefly appeared and joined us again for a minute.
The light at our campsite was basically gone. 1/10, F2, 3200ISO I think.
It was a little better near the stages. Next to the men’s urinals here.
Next morning we packed up and went home on a wet, grey day.
Here’s a silly stitched panorama of where we slept, ate and talked.
